Cabbage Pakoda

Monday, August 29, 2011
Well, I wanted to make a quick snack today. So thought of making some pakodas. I had some cabbage left in the refrigerator and so i thought i'll add in some to the pakoda mix and it turned out really tasty. easy to make and a treat to your tastebuds.

All you need :

Gram flour - 1 1/2 cup
Rice flour - about 1/2 cup
Cabbage - thinly sliced about 2 1/2 cup
Onion - 1 sliced thin
Ginger - sliced thin about 2 tbsp
Green chillies - 4-5 chopped finely
Curry Leaves
Red chilli powder - about 1 tsp
Salt
Oil

This is how you do :

1. Mix all the ingredients well with your fingers. If need sprinkle very little water so that the flour coats the onion and cabbage.( Make sure you don't make it watery)
2. Heat oil in a deep frying vessel on a medium flame.
3. Drop the batter using your fingers in the oil to form small fritters and fry till they are cooked on all sides and turn golden brown.
4. Remove them onto a paper towel.
5. Serve with hot chai/ coffee.

This makes a wonderful snack espescially on a rainy evening :)
